Protect Marriage CA

"Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid and recognized in California."

Getting Out Every "YES" Vote on Proposition 8!

Why Call: Personal phone calls have proven to be one of the most effective ways to get out the vote. Churches across California are committing to call everyone in their church database to: (1) identify pro-8 supporters, (2) make sure they are registered to vote, and (3) making sure they vote –preferably by mail using an absentee ballot.

Answering the Call: Each church identifies a Call Campaign Manager (CCM) who will lead the recruitment, training, and phoning. Volunteers will sign up to call for several hours one night per week for approximately 3 to 5 weeks, depending on the size of the church and the number of callers calling.

Training: Protect Marriage CA provides all of the training on-line for both the Call Center Managers and the Caller volunteers. Once registered on the ProtectMarriageCA.com website, the on-line training is automatic and available 7x24. We are asking that each volunteer completes their training within 48-hours of sign up.

Time is of the Essence: As the clock displays below, we don't have a lot of time left. We'll track who has and hasn't completed their training and send out a reminder e-mail to the volunteer as well as the CCM. We need to start the calling as soon as possible.

Making the Calls: All calling will be done evenings or late afternoons from the church. Calls will be made to people who have attended the church, so most likely a "friendly" call and also likely to support Prop 8. So no "cold calling," fundraising, or even asking someone to change their vote, just getting out the "YES!" votes.
